Patrick Is Amazing
I have been into photography since my mom dated famed photographer Martin Bydalek for most of the 80's. He made me carry his camera bags and hang his slides. I hated it at first, then I fell in love.
Most photographers have a style. Some are honed, and some are stolen from other shooters but everyone has a style. Mine was directly inspired by my mentor Marty ... Patrick's on the other hand comes from some alien lifeform or a channeled rock star. Sometimes I feel like a proud papa and all I want to do is brag on this kid but the truth is I have had very little to do with his success. He just get's it and he will be a HUGE success someday. Someday (probably soon) he will leave this little studio in this little town and he will put the world in a headlock and I will just nod and say "I told you so" as my chest swells with pride.
I am not even kidding, you need to book this kid while you can because one day *POOF* he'll be gone. The images in this post were all him 'goofing around' and you can read more about it on his blog here.

First shoot in the new studio!
"Why would you book a shoot the day you move in to your new studio?" my wife asked. Excellent question babe and the truth is, we didn't. We had a Sr. Portrait re schedule and we really didn't have a choice. We always want to be as accomodating to our clients as humanly possible and today was just one of those days. The whole frshnk team came together to clean, paint and get the place ready and it was in working order when our senior arrived.
The one thing we didn't have? POWER!
When life gives you lemons you make lemonade and we ran extention cords into the park to power our strobes and the shoot went off without a hitch. Pat rocked this shoot and I am so proud of this kid it's not even funny!
My new book
I am excited to announce that I am working on my new book, which is currently unnamed, that will consist of a concept I call the 'shot blast'. In essence it's the same shot, and the same subject portraying a number of different emotions. Yes, basically we are just making funny faces, but we all need a good laugh sometimes and I am hoping this book will do that for people. If you are interested in sitting for me for this book I would really appreciate it. Give us a call at 215-0009 and set up a time. It will take about 10 minutes of your, but I promise there will be some laughing going on and we have good coffee too.
The Irby's Drop a Style Bomb
The Irby family have a lot of style. They're in a band that totally rules (click here to get an ear feast) and they just bring a really awesome laid back vibe to any location they choose to grace with their Newbalance kicks. Dustin was lucky enough to shoot their wedding a few years back and now they have a beautiful new addition to the family so it was time for some new photo's. Foo grabbed his 5D and his eye for awesomeness and rocked this shoot out in like 20 minutes. It was unreal how quickly you can get great shots when your subjects are laid back and ready to party.
Stephens family goes green
Location, Location, Location .. it really is all about location. Thankfully we live in one of the most beautiful places in the country so wonderful locations are not hard to come by. It also helps when our subjects smilescan light up a room. We had a great time with the Stephens family and, like always, Lilly brought her cutest 2 teethed smile to the table. On a side note Brad (Lilly's dad) owns Sunjammers out on the west end of the beach. He can help you out with absolutely all of your fishing, kayak, and SUP needs. Check out his site at Sunjammers.com.
It's time for a little Kerr magic.
I have always wanted to meet a pixie and when the Kerr girls showed up for their photo shoot my wish was granted, twice. A couple of cuter pixies you won't find this side of never never land. We had to pull our our bribery 101 books in order to get the magic you see before you, but once we got started the shots were easy. Above, Patrick sprinkling his pixie dust.
